There are other things to do with your computer beyond playing those great games      You love games. We love games. But games aren't the only reason to own a computer.

Right now there's a pile of great programs available to you, all designed to utilize the awesome power of your home computer to make life easier and getting information simpler. After all, isn't that why you said you were buying your computer in the first place?

A To Z

Owning an encyclopedia used to require a second mortgage and a forklift. No longer. Today most of the world's best encyclopedias can be loaded right into your computer -- and we have a great selection at Quid'·nunc.

We're most impressed by Encyclopaedia Britannica on CD. You get the entire set of volumes for just $69.95... a cost savings so massive when compared with the printed version that it defies description.

If your needs or your wallet are still smaller, consider other great additions to your computer's reference capability. Grolier, Compton's and Colliers are all well-known, effective reference sources. All naturally include images and sounds to make research a multimedia experience. And at prices from $19.95 through $39.95, we have many customers who find it practical to own more than one of these collections.

If you want one for children, or appreciate an encyclopedia built for fun, consider Encarta, which includes actual web links for further reference.

Here To There

Going somewhere? We've got a map to help you get there, and instead of being an unwieldy atlas or the impossible-to-refold kind, we've got software that helps you tailor your trip.

The granddaddy of the genre is Delorme's Street Atlas USA. Enter a city and a state, zero in on an address, then get specific directions to make your journey easier. Also available is Map 'n Go, which will identify points of interest and lodging information for cross-country trips. We've also got Topo, which lets you a topographical map of anyplace you want -- reinforced with a global positioning satellite, no less!

Staying Home?

If you're a homebody maybe you ought to at least make the place you keep your computer presentable. For working on your home, take a look at 3D Home Architect (build the house of your dreams)... 3D Kitchen & Bath (the software is dirt-cheap when you consider the value these items may add to your property) and 3D Deck (so you can enjoy summer if finally comes). And if you do get outside, you'll find your property made prettier more easily by using 3D Landscape or Garden Encyclopedia.

One great feature of USB ports is that they're hot-swappable. Without turning off your computer, you can just unplug the joystick and plug in the scanner.

Serial or parallel? Mouse or joystick? SCSI you say? The confusion of competing ports for competing devices is now over thanks to the introduction of USB port technology.

One great feature of USB ports is that they're hot-swappable. Got your joystick plugged in but need to make a scan? Without turning off your computer, you can just unplug the joystick and plug in the scanner. Amazing, but true!

If you've got an earlier Pentium computer running Windows 98, you may be able to add -- for a low cost -- USB ports. They're especially handy if you've got a scanner or a printer and have spent time in the past toggling back and forth to use a joystick or a Zip drive. And check this out, iMac and G3 owners -- with USB technology, any machine that works on a Pentium machine's USB port will work on your Macintosh's USB port. Your universe of possibilities just grew way larger!

Of course, if you're buying a new computer, definitely ask for one of these.

Quid'·nunc has long been a reliable and affordable provider of Internet access to hundreds of Internet users, for both business and home use.

     Still, you wanted more.

You wanted multiple mailboxes on your account, so you could use the same account for home and business... or for parents and kids, or husband and wife.

You've got it! Each additional mailbox is just $5 extra per month -- and each account may have up to five. And now every account comes with two mailboxes... so if you're already one of our customers, you're good to go! And if you've registered your domain with us, you'll get five mailboxes. One mailbox will always be the master account, and each additional mailbox will require a separate E-mail profile.

You wanted usage statistics for your Web domain? You've got it! Record hits, click throughs and where your sites visitors came from. It's easy and it's free.

Best of all, you still get that Quid'·nunc service for which we're famous. We're DSL-ready, too. Thanks to US West, which has been working overtime to install these lines and hook its customers up, our customers are already enjoying improved speeds.

And check this out -- Quid'·nunc is now an official US West Demonstration Site. So you can try before you buy. (Of course, once you try, you will want DSL. It's evil, but it's kind of the point.)

So if you're ready to get on the World Wide Web -- or you've been thinking about finding a new Internet Service Provider -- talk to us today about setting you up. It's just a phone call (206-932-8795), fax (206-932-8183), or E-mail (quidnunc@quidnunc.net) away.

Quid'·nunc Is Part Of A West SeattIe Summer
line.gif - 96 Bytes

Every year the West Seattle Street Festival and Junction Sidewalk Sale draw customers from near and far for fun, food, music... and great sales.

Quid'·nunc will once more be part of this year's Street Festival, with gobs of sales merchandise -- starting with Fallout2, Descent Free Space and Seven Kingdoms (see www.quidnunc.net for our list, updated daily as the event draws near).

Quid'·nunc will once more sell software and other special sale items in front of the Washington Mutual Bank on California Avenue SW. And when you come into the store you have a great chance to enjoy all those special savings -- not to mention getting a Quid'·nunc antenna ball shot at you by Starsiege's Herc model.

But this year summer starts a little earlier... June 20, actually, with the debut of The Junction's newest event, the West Seattle Farmers Market. You need plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables to tame the worlds of Dune and Quake, or even to do battle with that spreadsheet. Farmers who just yesterday were picking luscious and tasty produce from the vine will bring those scrumptious items to The Junction parking lot behind Morton's Drugs to sell them to you! All summer long there'll be music, demonstrations, performers... but mostly great food. It's open from 10 to 2 every Sunday all summer long, so buy your fruit and then stop by Quid'·nunc to get your software.

If you get hit by one of Junior's antenna balls at the West Seattle Street Festival. . . .you win a great prize
Hey Starsiege Fans:
Herc is coming!

line.gif - 96 Bytes

Watch out for flying antenna balls!!      When you've absolutely positively got to blow something up from a moveable platform 14 feet off the ground, nothing does it like Starsiege's Herc units.

Come the second weekend of July, you'll get your chance to see exactly how big one of those suckers can be. Paul Quinn is bringing his home built, full-sized model of a Herc --fondly known as Junior -- to the store for the West Seattle Street Festival. He and his partner, Heather Callin, have spent innumerable hours of their weekends handcrafting this magnificent monstrosity. Imagine a creature built to kill... standing twice as tall as Shaquille O'Neal.

And if you're here during the street festival, perhaps you'll be able to collect one of our prize antenna balls -- shot out at the crowd by Junior himself.

And, when you do, look closely -- for while our Quid'·nunc antenna balls are nifty, the ones that will be worth one of our spectacular prizes are just plain killer (if you'll pardon the pun). We've got all sorts of software you love lined up to give away as well as prizes from other Junction merchants.

But to win you've got to be here to watch virtual reality make the transition to actual. Come to have fun!
